When we do B2B marketing, we sometimes get stuck marketing to “accounts” and “opportunities” and “leads”, but when we do it best, we are speaking to humans - people who get mad at their dog (me, guilty this morning) but who redeem themselves by inventing a new game with their 5-year old (also me yesterday, yay).
Until now, we’ve been stuck with putting people in buckets because those were the tools available to us. “Let’s run a campaign to companies from $50-200M in healthcare this quarter.” And who hasn’t been guilty of the dreaded “I saw you went to Notre Dame - my brother did too” email?
Do we really understand our market and our customers all that well?
